the one after the wedding

(i watched four episodes of friends today, so, that can take the credit for my friends-esque blog title) oh hey guys it's just me, mary blanchard. ha! that's still so weird. and not even really true yet. we didn't actually make it to the social security office till a couple of days ago so i still get to technically be mary tuscano until my new card arrives. and then i get to go to the dmv! woohoo luck me! sike. have you guys seen that commercial where the dmv has mini golf and they hand out ice cream? yeah that should happen.

so married life is pretty dang good. i know i haven't blogged in a long time but this time it hasn't only been because i'm lazy.... life has gone like this:
june 15 (and prior to that) wedding/wedding planning & preparation
june 15-22 honeymoon to las vegas
june 22-24 pack up all our stuff in st george
june 24 leave for oregon
june 24-jul 5 oregon reception/jordan's family campout

and now we're getting settled into our apartment finally! almost a month after we got married, haha. don't worry about it. i actually love our tiny little apartment. no we don't have a dishwasher, or washer and dryer in our complex... but it hasn't been bad. two people really don't make THAT many dishes. and coin op laundry is kind of fun! (at least for a year, ha). our apartment is nice! and our ward is good. we finally got our bed! and we got couches earlier this week.. and inherited a free table and free desk. and bought other various necessary items. we're doing pretty good. we moved in a week ago and we have most of the things we need. and we're ALMOST unpacked. or. like.. kind of almost. give me one more week.

jordan has been a gem. he's hung a lot of my random wall hanging stuff (although there is quite a bit more to go), curtains, he's been doing maintenance for our complex, he got me internet and cable, he's put together all my furniture, found ways to transport our two couches from lehi to here, and got our bed/frame/headboard here. he is a handy, resourceful man and i love him for it. i seriously sit back and wonder what i did before him and what i would do without him... so yeah. wow that's cheesy, but we're married, so, deal with it.

ok i know that if i was a good and cute blogger i would do separate little cutesy posts about each event that i mentioned above... but i'm NOT a good blogger... i'm just a bad journaler. so i'm gonna give a brief rundown of each event and call it good. :)

our wedding was blissful and perfect. i say that in hindsight because during my rehearsal dinner and my whole wedding day, and even on my honeymoon...AND in oregon i was pretty sick. it was a combination of a lot of things. MOSTLY stress and anxiety (which is to be expected). also i was dehydrated as all heck on our wedding day. future brides--my number one piece of advice to you is to drink SO MUCH water before and on your wedding day. but everything was perfect. so many people i loved were involved, and attended. the knox's backyard looked simply stunning and i love them for letting me borrow it for an evening. i'll post pics soon! my mom did an amazing job with all of the food--anjuli was the best maid of honor and gave a speech at the rehearsal dinner that made me cry. my dad was the cutest ever during the father daughter dance. the weather was as cooperative as it could have been in st. george on a june evening... anyway. it was fabulous. and obviously my favorite part was the sealing. so so so cool. time and eternity. like. it's mind blowing. anyway. thanks to everyone and anyone who participated in my wedding day. even though i know i was grumpy and lame and sick, it really was perfect. special shout out to alexis kathryn for attempting to keep my hydrated, following me around a lot of the day with a water bottle. she's the best.

ok so honeymoon. we went to sin city. ha! and stayed at the RCI grand view resort. it was awesome to have our own kitchen since i was too sick to go out a lot of the time, and if we didn't have a kitchen where would we have made the steady stream of thera flu i was on!? i don't know why i was drinking thera flu. cause i don't think i had the flu... i was just recovering from being dehydrated? whatever. it helped me feel better mentally. we watched a lot of one tree hill, walked the strip, spent time at the bellagio, saw phantom of the opera, watched more one tree hill, the nba finals... slept... ya know. just chilled. which was awesome. because after all the stress of the wedding i needed time to recover. also i took a whopping like.. four pictures throughout the course of our honeymoon... way to go mary.

oregon was fun! jordan's family is so, so sweet. they decorated jordan's backyard up so pretty for our second reception. although it sprinkled a little the night of our reception, it wasn't bad. it was much nicer to wear my 400 pound wedding dress in cooler weather than it was to wear it in st. george and feel like i was going to pass out, haha.. anyway. i'll post pictures from the oregon reception in the near future also. camping was alright. ha. ok. no. meeting all of jordan's cousins and extended family was fabulous. they are awesome and i love them. camping sucked. this girl is a city girl and needs luxuries and amenities. and my hair still smells like campfire a little bit. but. whatever. i wouldn't trade the experience. :) also i really did take two pictures from the whole week of camping and neither of them were good. so really. i suck. sorry.

ok! well. i think i've covered the major parts? much love--Mary Dawn

here we are right after we came out of the Temple!

here we are! good and married at cannon beach in oregon. we went with my family, the day between our oregon reception and going camping. it was a lot of fun.. but cold and rainy... (cold and rainy in june!? this st. george girl was not down with that).
